Orienteering at Forge Valley

This afternoon 24 of the year 6 class went to Forge Valley to take part in an orienteering competition.

We were put into groups of 6 with 6 boys or girls in each team.

We had to use the map to find the flags. At the flags we had to punch our control cards with the special hole puncher.

We ran in pairs to each position then passed the control card on to the next pair in our team.

We had to do a lot of running all over the sports ground of Forge Valley to find the flags.
Good team work was essential to ensure everyone could read the positions on the map and knew where to run to.

Everyone enjoyed themselves even though it was tiring. Also ...

ONE OF OUR TEAMS WON!!!!!!! Well done boys, what a successful afternoon!

Thanks to Mr. Bowmer for organising the afternoon for us.
