Non- chronological reports on sharks

The Kensukes have been learning how to write a non-chronological report. Here is an example of one which has been written by BM about the Great White sharks.

Great White Sharks

Sharks are vicious killers but only 10-15 humans are killed by sharks each year. There are 370 species of sharks. One is the Mako. The Mako is the fastest shark in the world. The most feared is the Great White.

Great White's habitat
The Great White's habitat is very close to the shore of South Africa, America and Italy.

Great White's Diet
The Great White is not picky, it eats a variety of creatures such as fish, penguins and seals. The Great White takes one bite and leaves its prey to bleed out. Human surfers are mostly killed because the bottom of the board is mistaken for a seal.

The Great White's Appearance
The Great White has 200 sharp, rigid teeth to hunt their prey. Additionally, they are streamlined which helps them travel through the water. The killer of the seas cannot blink. Nevertheless, they roll back their eyes for cover.

Great White's Senses
The Great White can smell blood 500 metres away. Furthermore, they can hear sounds 1000 metres away. Unfortunately, there eyesight is very bad, however, they have a special layer at the back of the eye called the tapetum that acts like a mirror.

Unfortunately, sharks are hunted for fun and are endangered.

Well done BM! You structured your report really well and have included some really interesting facts.
